Susan “Rae” Hunter-Havens holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Salem College and a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Virginia. She and her family moved to Wilmington in 2006.

Rae most recently served as Elections Director for the New Hanover County Board of Elections, where she led countywide operations, managed staff, oversaw budgeting and reporting, and served as a public liaison. Prior to that role, she worked in elections systems management, public health data analysis, and financial database management, bringing strong organizational, analytical, and leadership experience to her work.

Rae has been married to Greg Havens for 31 years, and they have one child, Noah. She looks forward to supporting the life and ministry of the parish in this new role.
